Extra cars charged at £8 each, and we may ask you to park these in a different field. Minimum stay durations apply for the bell tents.

Pitch Perfect

The site itself is actually an untamed ancient orchard that slopes down to woodland and a stream that marks the boundary of our land. You will be camping amongst the wildflowers and the unusual ‘otherworldly’ ant hills that tell us that this land has been undisturbed for centuries.

The opportunities for wildlife ‘safaris’ are endless, from your run of the mill rabbits and more than our fair share of woodland birds, to badgers, foxes and muntjac deer roaming around your tent at night, to sightings of fallow deer and buzzards, sparrow hawks and the occasional red kite flying overhead.

We allow camp fires, as long as they are off the ground (firepits available on site) and we have nets of logs and kindling for sale at our honesty shop, we also sell (amongst other things) locally produced meat for breakfast and your bbq's, as well as the obligatory marshmallows to toast over the campfire.

Facilities are basic, but comfortable and clean. At the moment we have a couple of composting toilets, a gas shower and a covered washing up area. There is no electricity on the campsite and the lighting in the facilities block is solar powered, so you may need to bring a torch to find your way to the loo at night.

The field is a car free site, which is perfect for families, it’s a short walk from the car park, and you can borrow one of wheel barrows to ferry your gear. If we're around and you decide upon a more remote pitch, then you may be able to hitch a lift on the quad bike and trailer for £4.00 - but this is not always guaranteed, so be prepared for a few trips back and forth with the wheelbarrows!

Living with Coronavirus

It's clear that Coronavirus isn't going away, and so we ask all of our guests to be sensible and respectful to other guests as well as us. Personal reasons in 2020/2021 mean that we have had to be extremely careful ourselves, and we take a dim view of anyone who has flouted the rules throughout the pandemic, and anyone who disobeys our rules, and terms and conditions on site. Just a few simple measures will remain in place - nothing too extreme - that we expect all of our guests to adhere to.

  1. Please clean up after yourselves. Measures that we had to put in place in 2020 have shown us that all campers can actually be respectful and clean, and so there is no excuse for leaving the toilets and shower in a mess. A few seconds of your time wiping down after yourself is all we ask, and the place remains clean and tidy and safe for the next person. If we find anyone not even trying then we will ask you to leave. Please check that your children haven't left sawdust or paper towels all over the place - supervision may be required. Please report anyone who flouts this rule.

  2. Don't crowd anyone. There's plenty of space and no need to be crowding anyone at the facilities, water taps, toilets, showers or shop. Please just step back and give everyone space.

  3. Please sanitise your hands. We should all be used to this by now, and we hope that everyone continues to use the sanitser that we provide around the site to keep your hands germ free.

No excuses.Just common sense and a little bit of resepct is all we ask. Thank you.

What our guests say

Below are just a handful of reviews from previous guests. Please feel free to see our reviews on Pitchup, Cool Camping, TripAdvisor, Google and anywhere else you may find us.

  • We were all really impressed with the accommodation and facilities on the site. The views from our tent made our experience even more better. Carole Donnan
  • We stayed in 1 of the bell tents which was spotlessly clean and really well furnished with lots of candles and fairy lights for a really magical look in the evening. The separate kitchen hut was really well thought out and provided the perfect balance of amenities versus the back to basics element of camping that my family love. Will 100% be returning soon! Thank you. Thomas Bird
  • Me, my partner and our little girl (6) stayed in one of the bell tents at Hidden Valley for 2 nights and it was just perfect. The views were stunning and the surroundings were beautiful. This is our first time camping with our little one as I was never a fan but honestly, I couldn’t want for more.. I really loved our stay :) Danielle Hodge
  • This is our second visit to Hidden Valley Campsite. We camped in the top field a couple of years ago and fell in love with the peaceful setting and scenary of this campsite. We returned again this summer and stayed in one of the bell tents and we were not disappointed. The bell tent and kitchen hut were very clean and well equipped. The individual kitchen huts are a great idea with the right amount of utensils to make family cooking easy. The owners were really helpful and genuinely friendly. This is a great site, lovely place to relax and explore the surrounding countryside. Our children are already asking when we will be going back so we will definitely be returning. Thanks! J & H :) The Powells
  • Booked this as a surprise birthday treat and in spite of the wet weather, it did not disappoint. The location is scenic and peaceful (aside from the amazing dawn chorus!) with lots of space between you and your nearest neighbours. The bell tents have been thoughtfully furnished, are cosy and comfortable, and with the lanterns lit, look quite magical. The little ‘kitchen’ hut was well equipped and it was fun to use the fire pit. The owners were helpful and friendly but unintrusive. All in all, a great place for quiet getaway - all the fun of camping with added home comforts and without all that packing. Anne
  • I don't really want to write a review because I want to keep this beautiful place a secret for myself. It is such a lovely peaceful place, so quiet, only the sounds of the farm animals and wildlife to be heard. Lovely, friendly owners there to lend a hand if needed but largely left to our own devices. Free to roam the extensive lands and plenty of beautiful countryside to be enjoyed, didn't see a soul apart from cows! Night sky worth a mention as so clear and unspoiled by unnatural light. Can't wait to go back! Nicola
